PRF Injections

Understanding Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF):

Platelet-rich fibrin is a form of autologous blood concentrate that contains a high concentration of platelets, growth factors, cytokines, and fibrin. It is derived from the patient's own blood, making it a safe and natural treatment option. PRF is obtained by collecting a small sample of blood, which is then centrifuged to separate the different blood components. Unlike platelet-rich plasma (PRP), PRF has a higher concentration of platelets and leukocytes, as well as a fibrin matrix that enhances its regenerative properties.

Differentiating PRF from PRP:

While both PRP and PRF employ the therapeutic potential of platelets, their preparation methods and clinical applications differ significantly. PRP is liquid-based and mainly used for surface treatments, such as facial rejuvenation and hair restoration. On the other hand, PRF's fibrin matrix allows for a more substantial and prolonged release of growth factors, making it suitable for a broader range of applications, including tissue regeneration and volumizing treatments.

PRF's unique composition and fibrin network contribute to its longevity and biocompatibility. The fibrin matrix protects the platelets and growth factors from rapid degradation, allowing them to remain active for an extended period. Moreover, the absence of anticoagulants in PRF eliminates any potential risks associated with their use, making PRF a safe and biocompatible treatment option.

Both PRF and PRP have similar aesthetic applications, but their specific uses may vary. PRF is often preferred for treatments that require longer-lasting effects and tissue regeneration, while PRP may be chosen for treatments that require a faster response.

Benefits of PRF:

  • Natural and Safe: PRF is derived from the patient's own blood, reducing the risk of adverse reactions or allergies.
  • Regenerative Properties: The growth factors and cytokines in PRF stimulate tissue regeneration, promoting collagen production and improving skin texture and elasticity.
  • Minimal Downtime: PRF treatments typically have minimal downtime, allowing patients to resume their regular activities quickly.
  • Versatile Applications: PRF can be used in various aesthetic procedures, including facial rejuvenation, hair restoration, and lip and dermal fillers, making it a versatile tool for aesthetic practitioners.

Not only do we offer liquid PRF, but we now have PRF EZ GEL. This cutting edge treatment in the aesthetic industry is an all-natural, autologous bio-stimulating and volumizing gel. EZPRF utilizes a combination of your albumin that we have heated then cooled to form a “gel” which contains your prf. These two are then blended together to form your own natural filler! We can use this all over the face where you have volume loss and need skin rejuvenation. EZ Gel is a great alternative for those who do not want regular HA fillers injected. It’s 100% autologous, bio-stimulating, and volumizing.

How to Prepare for PRF Treatments

This treatment is highly dependable on the patient's level of hydration (patients need to start the hydration process 72 hours before treatment). Patients who smoke may have less response to this treatment. It is also recommended to abstain from alcohol and anticoagulants including Ibuprofen, Aspirin, and Omega 3 supplements.

When will I see the results?

PRF is performed in a series of treatments, spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart. Results typically last 2 to 3 weeks and the volume will essentially dissipate. Long-term effects, such as skin tightening, collagen production and enhanced skin quality, may take up to three to four months to be noticed and can last from 6 to 12 months. The visibility of expected benefits and results of the PRF treatment is typically seen after six weeks from initial treatment.
